The new specialization in Digital Painting and Expanded Animation (DPXA) brings together courses from the Drawing and Painting and Integrated Media programs as well as Liberal Arts & Sciences and Design. Acknowledging constantly shifting disciplinary boundaries in traditional and digital media, DPXA has been designed to give students a true cross-disciplinary experience supported by a distinct set of competencies and skills that will allow students to be nimble and successful not only in their studies and experimental studio inquiries but also within the context of growing digital and knowledge economies.
